Hello, Mayor of tomorrow! I’m on the bus home after your talk, thinking. I still have to change buses at another terminal, so I have plenty of time to think.
I imagine running a city is really complex. But if you could have one super focused term and had to rank your countless proposals (some of them a bit vague) by how urgent they are and how big their impact is, what would come first? If you put the very basic things we still haven’t solved, like sanitation and primary schools, at the top, I and the citizens of tomorrow will thank you.
Six days later I spent a rainy Sunday reading every candidate’s proposals about exactly that, and wrote Silicon Island, Medieval Sewers.
