STEM could use a lot more diverse voices, and these are a few people I found who are already changing that:
- Dr. Jessica Esquivel, a physicist and co-founder of Oyanova Enterprises, who is rethinking STEAM education around culture and community.
- Markemia Peterson, an Enterprise Technical Specialist Consultant at Microsoft, who shows you can bring your whole self to STEM and do great.
- Jocelyn Mata, a geophysics and computer science student who wants to work at NASA.
STEM isn’t for one type of person. Anyone who is curious and stubborn enough fits, and kids need to see more people like these three to believe it.
