This was originally published on my old blog BackpackBook (Livro de Mochila), a project that blended literature and travel, sometimes just traveling in my lucid dreams. It ran as âPrĂŞmio volta ao mundoâ on October 15, 2007.
Newsflash from the desk. The people at Editora Abril liked Livro de Mochila and decided to put it to a public vote.
What actually happened is that this is the result of my entry into the Young Creativity Prize, the second Volta ao Mundo Negresco, and to my surprise (it always is, isn’t it) I was selected for the semi-finals. Until November I’m competing with four other bloggers for a place in the final.
Negresco and Abril are giving away a beautiful trip around the world with everything paid, thirty of the most incredible days for the winning traveler.
Go and see the list of the five sites competing in the blog category. To vote you just click on your choice and wish them a good trip. And of course, if the mouse happens to slip toward one Diego F. Dotta Couto of Livro de Mochila, his baggage will probably come home full of stories and adventures about Russians, Japanese, Italians and certainly one Brazilian thoroughly lost in translation.
